Sarah Aubrey

Aubrey is head of original content at HBO Max, overseeing a distinctive slate of drama, comedy, unscripted, documentary and animation for the streamer. She was appointed to this position in January 2019.

Among Aubrey’s breakthrough Max Originals are the Emmy-winning Hacks with Jean Smart and the Kaley Cuoco starrer The Flight Attendant along with record-breaking hits And Just Like That…, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and Friends: The Reunion.

Aubrey is also part of the charge to expand the DC universe. She recently broke viewership records with Peacemaker and has established HBO Max as the home to Doom Patrol, Titans, Harley Quinn, and The Penguin, Matt Reeves’ forthcoming Batman spinoff starring Colin Farrell.

Aubrey’s slate also includes critically acclaimed fan-favorites Love Life, Station Eleven, It’s a Sin, Starstruck, Raised by Wolves, FBoy Island, Selena + Chef and Legendary as well as new 2022 titles Julia, about Julia Child and the advent of the cooking show genre; The Staircase, about the case that began the modern era of true crime; David E. Kelley’s Love and Death; and Issa Rae’s Rap Sh!t.

Prior to HBO Max, Aubrey, a former lawyer, was a film and television producer and EVP of original programming at TNT.
