Gertler is executive vice president, global content strategy, planning & analysis working across HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming products, including HBO Max and discovery+. She is responsible for shaping the global content portfolio and long-term content investment strategy, leveraging data and insights to curate a content offering that drives acquisition, engagement, and retention. Gertler oversees the teams responsible for content and promotion scheduling for HBO, HBO Max and discovery+, in addition to merchandising of streaming content in-app, and podcast development & production. Gertler’s strategic approach to driving audience has not only increased overall viewership and engagement but has also led to significant week-over-week audience growth, sustained cultural conversation, and a collective experience for viewers – most recently with successes such as The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, The White Lotus, Peacemaker, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and Hacks.
Outside of the office, Gertler is a JFEW board member, a founding member of Chief and serves on the President’s Council of Cornell Women. In 2011, she was named a Betsy Magness Leadership Institute fellow and a Home Media Magazine Forty Under Forty Hot List executive.
