Catherine Mackin

From linear channels to acquisitions to streaming. Mackin started off her channels career running Bravo, part of the Flextech Group of channels in the late 90’s. A stint running UKTV GOLD as it was called at the time, (when it was also the fifth biggest channel in the UK), led Makin to TV3, (now Virgin Media) in Ireland, as deputy director of programming, Ireland’s most successful commercial broadcaster. Returning to the UK in 2009 she joined UKTV as director of acquisitions, delivering, with her team, over 7,000 of content across 10 channels, via content pipelines ranging from the BBC Worldwide/Studios multi-million-pound output deal, US studios, international indies deals, pre-sales and co-pros were all under her remit.

Mackin joined AME in July 2018, her remit was to build up Acorn TV’s drama co-commissioning and commissioning output and strategy. To date this strategy has delivered over 16 dramas including Dalgliesh, The Chelsea Detective, Signora Volpe, Under The Vines and Harry Wild with more announcements to follow.
