Alec Botnick

Botnick serves an executive VP, comedy development, head of animation and alternative, CBS Studios. Botnick, who originally joined the studio in 2015 as VP, comedy development, was promoted to executive VP in 2021.
In his position, Botnick oversees the studio’s growing animation slate including STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS for Paramount+, Andy Samberg’s DIGMAN!, Chris Rock’s animated adaptation EVERYBODY STILL HATES CHRIS and STEPHEN COLBERT PRESENTS TOONING OUT THE NEWS all for Comedy Central.
Botnick helped develop award-winning comedy series such as AMERICAN VANDAL and DEAD TO ME for Netflix, and CBS hits GHOSTS and THE NEIGHBORHOOD as well as COLIN FROM ACCOUNTS for Foxtel.
In addition to his most recent role at the studio, Botnick had previously been an agent in the Television Literary Department at WME since 2009. While there, he packaged scripted TV series and represented writers, performers, directors and producers. He originally started in the mailroom at Endeavor while earning his J.D. at Loyola Law School.
