Allison Wallach, president of unscripted programming at Fox Entertainment, will outline her priorities and opportunities for partnerships in a keynote interview, while Lars Blomgren, newly installed to run Media Res’s international TV unit, will share his plans in a second keynote.
Wallach is responsible for overseeing Fox’s unscripted programming, specials and alternative development slate; Gordon Ramsay’s production entity, Studio Ramsay Global; entertainment brand TMZ; and in-house unscripted studio Fox Alternative Entertainment (FAE).
She joined Fox in 2020 as exec VP, head of FAE, responsible for producing hit singing competition The Masked Singer; Next Level Chef (in partnership with Studio Ramsay Global), television’s #1 unscripted programme; I Can See Your Voice, 2020-2021’s #1 new unscripted programme; Crime Scene Kitchen (with Fly on the Wall Entertainment), Summer 2021’s #1 new series; Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer; Domino Masters; Name that Tune; and Fox’s New Year’s Eve Toast & Roast 2021, which was hosted by Ken Jeong and Joel McHale.
Wallach also helped launch Fox’s International Unscripted Format Fund to identify intellectual property for the global market that is produced and owned by FAE.
Lars Blomgren recently joined Media Res, the independent studio behind such productions as The Morning Show and Scenes From a Marriage, to launch an international TV unit.
Blomgren heads up Media Res International, which will develop premium TV series from a range of genres by combining talent and material from outside the US with the company’s eye for production value and narrative expertise.
Blomgren recently served as head of scripted for Banijay. In 2022 Banijay produced more than 138 scripted series, and Blomgren has supervised work behind The Fall, Lilyhammer, Beforeigners, Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders, Dark, Caliphate and Scenes From a Marriage.
Before joining Banijay, he was co-founder and managing director of Swedish production company Filmlance International AP, where he oversaw such series as Bron/Broen (The Bridge), which has since been adapted into seven international versions.
A raft of other speakers and sessions will be announced shortly.
Content LA is moving in alongside LA Screenings Independents at the Fairmont Century Plaza this year, providing enhanced meeting environments. Up to 2000 delegates are expected across the two events.
